2022.01.19 01:33 Drabenb Heat shield for Bobcat outdoor enclosure.

I was wondering if anyone has made a DIY solar shield for the RAK outdoor enclosure. I already ordered the enclosures, but the solar shields were forgotten.
I refuse to pay the outrageous overseas shipping costs, so I was wondering if anyone had another solution.
My next outdoor hotspot will be directly in the summer sun, most of the day.

2022.01.19 01:33 quiet_riots My GTX 1060 broke down, which GPU should I replace it with?

Hi all, I'm not that much experienced with computer parts but after a weeks of asking and figuring out the cause of my PC lag and game crashes and graphical glitches/artifacts, it seems like it's my GTX 1060 who broke down. However seeing the status of the GPU market right now, it's kinda putting me off in buying a new one but I have to buy one eitherway and my eyes seem to be on set with the 3060 and I heard something about the 3050 coming soon. There's also an "Asus RTX 3060 Dual OC V2 12GB LHR DUAL-RTX3060-O12G-V2" in a store near me that costs around $640, is this price any good? Which GPU would you guys recommend for me?
My current PC specs:
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 x2 8GB GSkill Ripjaws (16 GB RAM) MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX ASUS Strix NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

I was expecting a package delivered via USPS today. Here's what I got:

Two words: BULL. SH!T.
I live in a freaking DOORMAN BUILDING. In the Warehouse District. There is a passenger zone right in front of my building's front door, and a freight zone around the corner. Security would have signed for the package even if I weren't at home (which I was).
I'm fuming.

2022.01.19 01:33 Litte_KittyKat_ I don’t miss you anymore

It’s strange, I was asked if I missed you and it was clear now I don’t. I used to miss you everyday. You were my first and last thought of the day. But the person I missed and yearned for was a mirage.
I do wonder if you’ll ever really understand the magnitude of the pain you put me through. If you have reflected and if you will ever be accountable.
remember the thing you gaslit me with, I apologised profusely as you made me believe this effected you, but you made me believe that to cover up your infidelity.
It’s strange how the person I thought was my protector never was. I question if your love for me was ever real.
So you are still there at times, in my thoughts, but those good memories are tarnished, gone. When you are there in my head it’s only anxiety that shines through. I no longer see your face, my mind has removed it and replaced it with a distorted image to mentally protect myself.
I thought you were the love of my life, I would have done anything and everything for you. I don’t love who you are but the person I believed you were.
I hope one day you give me closure that I deserve.

2022.01.19 01:33 Pumkin-Mumshkins Possible element for Heizou (pure speculation)

Based off of the little information we have on Heizou, I personally think there's a possibility that he's an Anemo unit.
Many people who play Genshin theorize that most characters with a specific element share a certain trait or "theme". For example, Pyro is often roughly seen as "Passion", Geo is often seen as "Endurance", Hydro is seen as "Law", etc.
Anemo is, of course, freedom. And from what we know of Heizou and the things other characters have said about his personality, he seems to line up quite well with the concept of "Freedom".
The NPC Koyoma says that Heizou was spotted "sightseeing" on Watatsumi island, which implies that he's slacking off. He's described by his brother as "Arrogant and disrespectful", and also described by Sango as a "Liar and chartatan". Kano Nana even decribes him as "Always getting into trouble" and "Not abiding by the rules". She and his brother both are looking for him because apparently he keeps running off to go investigate various things. When others refer to Heizou as a detective, they almost always use quotes, like he's just a self-proclaimed detective.
In other words: His "lazy" and carefree nature is similar to Sayu. His trouble-making and mischievous side is similar to Venti. And his clear will to be a detective, even if possibly self proclaimed, is similar to Sucrose's own passion with alchemy. (There might even be a sense of duty like with Jean or Xiao, but for now that one's a bit of a stretch.)
What they all share in common is their desire for freedom in doing what they want/love/feel a need to do. From how Heizou is described, he breaks rules, gets into trouble, and continously "runs off" and does his investigations despite what others want. A clear act of defiance, and by extension a desire for freedom, seems present in his character.
That's why I think, judging by these small descriptions, he might be an Anemo character.
Of course, that's all entirely speculation. And its not like everyone in each element all strictly abide by the same "rules" and share the same traits. He could be Pyro for all we know, like Hu Tao and Klee (with a passion for investigating), or maybe Hydro like Childe (with a sense of justice that drives him to being a detective maybe), but in the end, we won't know anything for sure until it's confirmed :P
What do you guys think? Do you think he'll be Anemo based on the pattern of characters' traits? What other element do you think he could be?
(Also sorry if this post has any errors. I've actually never made a post on Reddit before despite having it for so long xD)

2022.01.19 01:33 bntrll [OC] How to instantly downpick like James Hetfield today!

Hey /guitar. Here, I'll tell you how to downpick at Metallica speeds, north of 200bpm 8th notes. It's easier than you think. In fact, it's just plain easy. Sorry for the clickbait title, but people have to click on my thread somehow, right?
First, my credentials. I've been playing guitar for less than two years, which I wager is less than pretty much everyone I have better (right hand, at least) technique than. I can play riffs from Metallica's first four albums, downpicking the whole time, for over an hour, without tension building up. I can also strictly alternate pick, with good synchronization, ergonomic, shreddy scale patterns at 15ish notes per second, or sextuplets at 150bpm (yes, I'm aware that's bordering on Petrucci speed. And no, I'm aware that he's still a much better guitar player than me), and I can play the Paul Gilbert lick, also strictly alternate picked, cleanly making the string changes, at 12ish notes per second, both inside and outside versions of it.
Why all the advice I've seen is wrong I've seen a lot of people asking how to downpick at Metallica (or Monuments, or take your choice of downpick-y bands) level speeds, here and elsewhere on the internet. The answer almost universally is to start slow with a metronome and gradually increase speed over time. When people complain about tension that arises with this method (which is something that arises when people try to move their pick faster than they actually can), they get told to bump down the metronome, relaxing with time. Making smaller movements doesn't fix this-- making a slow movement smaller doesn't make it faster, even though fast movements often get smaller with speed (this isn't always the case though-- Hetfield makes large movements, as do many other fast players, Zakk Wylde being an egregious example off the top of my head).
I can't tell you definitively that the metronome method doesn't work necessarily, but I can say that it's an inefficient way to build the right-hand speed (I discovered mine in a few hours of experimentation) and will probably lead to injury down the line. Building picking-hand speed is not the same as building a big bench press. I'll also tell you that you probably already have the picking-hand speed right now. Don't believe me? Let me show you.
Proof you have the innate speed to play Metallica Pull up a metronome on google or something. I want you to tap twice per click on your desk or something (eighth notes for us theory fans) using a door knocking motion of your picking hand wrist-- flexion and extension if you know anatomy. NOT side to side, or anything that involves rotating your hand or using your elbow. Don't worry about the size of the motion-- don't try to make it small or anything, just make it fast and smooth. Make a note of what you get. I got this movement up to 185 with my fretting hand. Yours will likely be faster, because you are used to moving your picking hand back and forth (I hope! This is a guitar forum, after all).
Mic drop moment This directly translates to downpicking speed (and alternate picking at twice the speed). If you can tap at 210, you have the muscular abilities to downpick at that speed. It's just a matter of translating it to the guitar. The muscles that flex and extend your wrist are capable of moving your hand back and forth rapidly for long periods of time. The muscles that rotate your forearm, or move your elbow, or move your hand side to side, can't as effectively.
How to make the correct downpicking motion You have two options on grips to take to accomplish this. My way, the "door knocking" way, is to plant both sides of my wrist on my bridge, grip the pick such that the tip points pretty sharply towards the low-E side of my guitar, and then bring my wrist down in the knocking motion to accomplish the downstroke.
Hetfield's way, which I will logically call the "reverse door knocking" way, is to take his signature pick grip (look how on youtube), start above the string, and extend your wrist, bringing it "up," to produce the downstroke.
Experiment with your pick grip to translate the motion to your guitar and get the appropriate attack. Hope this helps!

2022.01.19 01:33 StephenPigot2020 Settling out of court is not an admission of guilt.

I see too often people treating others as if they were guilty simply because they settled out of court. Often the juice is not worth the squeeze and settling is easier than a whole public trial.
A perfect example I always think of is former UFC fighter Chuck Liddell was asked to take a photo messing around choking this guy. The guy sued and claimed he was injured. For chuck to go through the whole process was just going to cost him more time and money so he just settled. The UFC now have it in their contract not to do this as a result.
